Stephen Barbee: Sentenced to Death Posted: Monday, February 27, 2006 3 Hours 25 Minutes 56 Seconds Post Meridian It was inevitable. Stephen Barbee was sentenced to death for killing Lisa Underwood, her son Jayden Underwood and her unborn child a year ago. The jury had to find him a threat to society and I suppose that’s exactly what happened. Now, Stephen Barbee’s family blamed the outcome on the media coverage of the trial. I would suggest that they (members of Stephen’s family) practice a little compartmentalized thinking here. " He confessed to what he did. I am not sure about exactly how you can swerve out of the way of a death sentence after you admit to killing a pregnant woman and a seven year old but that’s what usually happens when you do. Regardless of the reason, (Stephen Barbee says that Lisa was going to blackmale him among other things but that’s heresy) there is no justification for it that is going to satisfy any jury. The cool part is, if he got life on appeal (you get an automatic appeal if you get sentenced to death) the general population may very well kill him anyway. Even prisoners have standards. At least this way, he would get the violent death he deserves. A year ago when this happened I wrote an article, stating that there are consequences to certain actions. If Lisa Underwood, me or anyone else messes with the wrong person, something bad may happen. A lot of people wrote in and commented. Well a lot has changed and what I wrote was based on what I knew at the time. Some of it may very well be incorrect. There are however a few facts that remain.

I mean, cmon, does she want us to believe that the first time he hit her was immediately before he removed his ankle monitor and ran to the loonybin to check himself in? Don't feel sorry for Theresa. So long as the Texas Correctional System continues to release inmates, Theresa will have a "soulmate". Remember, this is a woman who talked about Nathan's (Ron's son) penis size, then went on to sleep with his brother. This woman would STILL have Steve Barbee back if he was to get out of jail. Damn shame he didn't kill HER first and save Mrs. Underwood all that heartache. Ron had stated previously that he had killed before and gotten away with it and was willing to kill Lisa for Steve. Steve had not spoken to Lisa for more than six weeks, went over to her home late and killed her himself rather than waiting for Ron. Ron came back to Lisa's and helped load the bodies while Steve tried to clean up the crime scene. They both drove seperate cars to the grave site and buried them. Ron was emotionally affected by his actions but Steve went home, made love to his wife and carried on as if nothing had ever happened. Ron turned Steve in himself and tried to make himself look like the good guy. His motive was money, a new truck and taking over STeve's life, including his x-wife. Steve who had never been able to keep his mouth shut, blabbed to the police officer in an effort to be buddy buddy with the officer. Realizing what he had done, he rapidly began to blame Ron for the whole thing. Steve wanted everyone to believe that he had lied about the confession. Steve lied to get out of trouble all his life, not to get into trouble. Steve and Ron are both where they belong. It is only unfortunate that Ron is not sharing a cell with Steve on death row. Ron is a lifetime violent offender and will offend again. His son, Nathan is a thug and will end up in prison for the majority of his life because he knows nothing else.
